Our theatre acting classes will make your self-expression better, stronger, more nuanced, whether you use your words or your body. You will learn acting in a team, so you will develop your collaboration skills, your trust in others and your confidence in yourself. You will learn more about who you are and, last but not least, you will learn theatre acting from a professional team.

InLight has given all its students, with no exceptions, the chance to act in organised cultural projects: plays, ads, short films and feature films: River-Bet, Domino, Triptic and the much-awarded Illegitimate. You will learn to master yourself and acquire elements of scenic process analysis.

Administrative details and fees

The theatre acting classes are held in Romanian (or English for foreign students) and are meant for people over 14. The groups will be made up of  8 to 12 students. The class takes 6 months4 months of actual classes + 2 months of rehearsals and ends with  a play on the stage of one of our partner theatres: UNTEATRU, Godot Cafe Teatru, Teatrul De Artă București etc.

The class costs 500 lei/month.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

  1. Developing interpretive skills;

  2. Knowing and using elements of scenic motion and thinking;

  3. Cultivating sensitivity, fantasy, imagination and scenic creativity.

REFERENCE OBJECTIVES

The class will enable students to:

  1. act out dramatic fragments for adults, including poems, literary texts and scenes from plays;

  2. develop correct thinking and movement habits for the scenic process: breath, tone and diction, body posture, attitude, gestures, mimic;

  3. understand the value of teamwork and use it correctly;

  4. use their reflexes to take the correct course of action in various scenic or real-life situations;

  5. identify what is fake and what is genuine in acting;

  6. adopt various attitudes, as leaders or team members, both on stage and in their personal life;

  7. correlate and synchronise their physical, vocal and intellectual abilities in a play, working with props, music, lights and costumes;

  8. consolidate their ability to function normally, both in groups and individually;

  9. understand the content of an interpretive text and apply the morality principles of its message in their daily life;

  10. learn to create and maintain their own repertoire of monologues in various typologies.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

voice and diction exercises;
– movement and physical relaxation exercises;
– exercises for developing motive, musical, rhythmic and interpretive memory;
– elements of scenic process analysis;
– teamwork games for developing imagination, reflexes, decisionmaking skills and applied fairness;
– dramatic scenes and plays (scenes from plays and films, plays and scripts from the Romanian and international repertoire).

CONTENT

– learning to interpret a text (correctly understanding its dramatic content and quickly analysing the scenic goal and the characters);
– learning acting skills (putting into motion and speech what they have understood from the text analysis, making the difference between fake and genuine and using all creative means – particularly improvisation – acquired through the exercises);
scenic expressiveness (taking an original approach of the selected texts and acting them out to different effects);
creativity (learning to improvise and put their imagination to work).

MEANS OF ASSESSMENT

Practical tasks – the students will be assessed by their teachers in small groups and individually.
